My first order of daylilies was from Spring Hill Nurseries back on 05-19-16. My first order was 6 each of Elegant Candy, Marque Moon & Funny Valentine and 8 of Lavender Stardust. It was quickly followed by 3 orders of their Reblooming Daylily Collection A on Jun 6th. It was in response to a catalog I received in the mail. I'd purchased seeds from Burpee for years and they must have shared my home address.
I now have 26 daylily varieties that I purchased from Spring Hill which can be broken down by foliage type to 16 dormant, 6 semi-evergreen & 4 evergreen. I haven't had bad luck with the dormant varieties so far, though I now try to purchase only semi-evergreen and evergreen daylily varieties.
I sorted these daylilies based upon 2022 bloom season into the following categories:
Favorite Flowers (6 varieties): Stolen Treasure, Exotic Candy, Erin Lea, Barbara Mitchell, Early Snow & Blackthorne
Prolific Bloomers (12 varieties): South Seas, Garden Show, Elegant Candy, Jolyene Nichole, Desert Flame, Lavender Stardust, Always Afternoon, Passion for Red, Daring Deception, Earlybird Cardinal, Joan Senior & Funny Valentine
Solid Performers (5 varieties): Inwood, Pewter Pink, Scottish Fantasy, Elegant Explosion & Raspberry Suede
Wish for More Blooms (4 varieties): Round Midnight, Marque Moon, Majestic Move & Sweet Tart
See below for 5 pics for each variety from the 2022 bloom season.
And yes, I have been very happy with my daylily purchases from Spring Hill. The daylily flowers are very true to the pictures on their website!
